7 Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas for Dog Walking Clients

I give my clients gifts every year for the holidays; its a simple way to show them I appreciate their business. I gift the dog rather than the person, since dogs are way less picky when it comes to personal taste, plus a gift for Fido is a gift for the owner too.

Without further ado, here are 7 ideas for last minute dog walking client gifts.

#1 DIY Mason Jar Treats

Fill mason jars with homemade or store bought treats. Check out the video above for a full DIY on presenting a pretty jar to your dog walking clients this holiday season.

#2 Toys

Check your local pet store for deals on toys. Don't forget you can find great deals at places like Homegoods or the Dollar Store too.

#3 Gift Bags

Fill a cute gift bag (or other cute package, like a holiday themed box, cellophane bag or metal canister) with small items like a tennis ball, roll of poop bags, and a few treats.

#4 Donation to a Local Pet Charity

Give a donation in the client or client dog's name to an animal charity, then give your client a card letting them know a donation has been made in their honor (sometimes the charity will provide the cards for you too).

#5 A Frosted Cookie

Gift one or more frosted cookies from your local pet boutique; these are super cute and affordable. Just be sure to let the client know it's a dog treat!

#6 A Special Chew

Skip potentially dangerous bones and chews (like rawhide), but look for tendons, fish skin or similar high quality chews. Tie a bow around it and voila, you've got a great holiday gift.

#7 Bandannas

Bandannas are pretty much one size fits all, so you don't have to think too much about sizing for each dog.  Check your local shops to see if you can find something unique, or if you're crafty you can sew your own.
